Why did Asin say 'no' Asin says no to Akki!
If director Priyadarshan had had his way it would have been Asin in his latest venture, 'De Dana Dan', along with the likes of Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal. But it was not slated to be so and hence a casting coup of sorts went a begging. So, what exactly went wrong?
Well, for that matter, nothing! And please do not jump to conclusions, the next southern 'superstarni' in the making, Asin, is not getting too carried away with the all time blockbuster success of her debut Hindi film, 'Ghajini', and has not rejected Priyan's offer for any controversial reason.
It's just that she simply stuck to her principal of accepting roles that are challe
nging and of some substance, one which offer her the scope to showcase her acting skills, and so she reluctantly refused Priyan's tempting offer.
Since the movie is basically an all male centric one, the role which Asin was offered was not exciting enough and it required Asin to be just a pretty face and add to the glamour quotient, which was not acceptable to the new sensation and hence the refusal. Asin also made it clear that she has no financial constraints and she makes enough bucks from the ads and endorsements.

Is Lara Dutta insecure over BLUE?

Is Lara Dutta insecure over her forthcoming film BLUE is what industry insiders are wondering. She may be playing the female lead in the film but she seems to be feeling threatened and losing sleep over Katrina Kaif's special appearance in the film claim a few industry sources.
Sources also claim that she is waiting to see the rushes of BLUE and is requesting the makers for the same.
''Katrina was a last minute addition to the film reportedly on recommendation of good friend Akshay Kumar who is amongst the three male leads of the film along with Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan. Apart from a lavish song a few scenes too were shot on Katrina. But as reports have began pouring out that her role has increased since she enjoys a bigger star status, Lara is feeling mighty insecure. As it is the film is a full-on male bonding film and Lara despite of playing a significant character is relegated to the back seat as compared to her male counterparts. As it is the entire first round of publicity for the film was hogged by renowned international pop singer Kylie Minogue. Lara's bikini clad pictures splashed all over the media too haven't done the trick for her either. Her last release BILLU too saw the trio of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone hogging all the publicity when in fact she had a bigger n better role in the film. She doesn't want the same to happen here over Katrina and Kylie. So in a way her feeling of insecurity is justified,'' adds the sources.

The team of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd's : BLUE

Our Bollywood stars once again share space with Hollywood actors. Well no, this time we aren't talking of screen space as yet.
The team of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd's forthcoming action thriller BLUE, Directed by Anthony D'souza, shot for their underwater sequence which included dangerous stunts with the sharks in the diving center of Stuartcove at Bahamas. And apparently post their shoots, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar and Zayed Khan who star in the movie have been included among the their own hall of frame board.
The particular place also happens to be one of the biggest and most famous underwater shark dive in the world. The actors' photos have been put up among the prestigious guests who had come down to the place.
And interestingly the trio also happen to be the first Indians to be included in it along with top Hollywood actors like Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, Sean Connery, Tiger Woods, Johnny Depp as the movie PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN had been shot there too.

“Wonder Why He’s Doing It…Ben Kingsley Has A Small Cameo”

Why is Sir Ben Kingsley who not so long ago swept the world, critics and the Oscars by playing Gandhi, ready and willing to do a 5-day cameo in an out-and-out Amitabh Bachchan film?
The announcement that Ben Kingsley would be working with the Big B in Leena Yadav’s Teen Patti comes as a shock. According to insiders the film was complete many months ago…but for five days of work with a Caucasian actor .
Says a leading member of the unit, “It was a bit tricky and complicated. Getting a white-skinned actor at the last stage of the film wasn’t easy. Everyone knew the film was almost complete. So approaching a big name appeared absurd. Websites and newspapers weren’t making it easier for us by telling the world that we've cast Pierce Brosnon or Richard Gere in the role. Where did they come in? We didn’t even start casting until our producer returned from her honeymoon a few months ago.”
Ben Kingsley it seems was keen for a long time to be part of an Indian project. While shooting in Tunisia with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for The Last Legion he had offered to do Taj Mahal with her featuring them as Shah Jehan and Mumtaz Mahal.
But recession killed that project. And Kingsley’s keenness to be associated with a completely Indian project remained unfulfilled.
Until now…. And never mind if in the words of a crew member, “It’s a role that any actor can do.”
If the mighty Sylvester Stallone can be seen lending support to Akshay Kumar, why not Ben Kingsley in a cameo for an Amitabh Bachchan starrer?

Amrita is very comfortable in a bikini

The stars of Sajid Nadiadwala's multi-starrer Kambakkht Ishq -- Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh -- are looking very hot and glamorous in the film. And the designers must get some credit too.
Akki Narula designed Kareena's oomphy look, Shabina Khan gave Akshay, Stallone and Brandon macho looks, and Ashley Rebello gave Amrita Arora's her sexiest onscreen look so far.
Rebello, who had designed Amrita's wedding outfits as well, tells Nithya Ramani how he made Amrita look hot in a bikini.

Best of both worlds
Thu, Apr 16 05:40 PM
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is finally ready with his crossover film Kambakht Ishq. Shot at Universal Studios, Los Angeles, the film will see Hollywood biggies Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brendon Routh sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.
"For us to have Rocky, Superman and a Bond Girl in one film - it must be destiny. Even a Hollywood film can't boast of a cast like this," says Sajid.
Revealing more about the film, Sajid says it involves a love triangle between Denise, Akshay and Kareena. "Contrary to reports, all three of them have proper roles.
Stallone has action scenes and Hindi dialogues too," he says. Sly is someone he's especially fond of.
"Sylvester's posters would be on every wall while working out in the gym. When I met him to sign the deal, I didn't know whether to take his autograph or his signature," says the self-professed "mad fan.
" However, having him around did pose some challenges. "Everyone in the team was star struck.
Whenever someone was missing from work, he or she could be found standing with him." With so many Hollywood biggies around, won't Akshay and Kareena get sidelined? "No.
The film is about them. Akshay plays a spot boy who lives life on the edge and Kareena plays a top notch model.
They are the lead. The idea of bringing such a cast was to offer something different.
We wanted a film industry as the backdrop and for that purpose, Bollywood has been done to death. Hollywood seemed like a fresh idea.
" Even though the film is on hold because of the ongoing argument between filmmakers and multiplex owners, Sajid is upbeat. "I just hope it gets resolved and we can present the film to our viewers," he says.
